That is why it is vital for you to know where your meat comes from and if it is organic or if the animal was raised with chemicals and additives. What can you do to be sure?
- Search for local farms around you. If you take your meat directly from the supermarket you can be sure that the meat is either injected with chemicals or colors, or that the animal was not raised in proper conditions.
- Many stores now label the meat so that you can be assured that it is organic and not injected with chemicals, that the animals were given hormones, or that the animal feed was grown using chemical fertilizers and weed killers.
- Pay attention to the color. Suppose that you can’t find any local farms around you and you have to buy the meat from the store. In this case, you have to know that if the meat has a bright red color it is mostly injected with chemicals. Also, the cheaper it is, the worst it is, so don’t try to save money if you want to buy organic food.
- Check the expiry date. If the meat from the store expires within a few months, it is clearly not natural. The expiry date shouldn’t be longer than one month. Pay attention to what you eat, as it will dictate how you feel!
