We all want something. Sadly, many of us cannot achieve that goal. The situation is even worse when something happens to us that we don’t like. Maybe we are the owners of our life, but we don’t have an absolute control over it. If you are sad or depressed, because something happened to you, there are several ways that should help you overcome that change. The first and the most important thing you must do is not to compare your life with others. Maybe it looks like that someone’s life is perfect, but it isn’t true. Every person has problems and difficulties, so don’t believe that a life of that person is perfect.
Admit that this is a reality and that you don’t have a control over something that happened to you. So, surrender to that situation. This doesn’t mean that you are giving up, but fighting against something that you cannot beat or even control isn’t helpful. You simply cannot change what happened, so don’t try. Instead, focus on what you can learn and how that situation may make you stronger. You defensive mechanism (anger, sadness and disbelief) should protect you, but they also must push you back in the real world. The problem occurs when you get stuck with them, so you become their slave.
Use your ego. It is designed to help you and to make you a better person. You ego uses fear to stimulate you. Because of it, you may think that you aren’t good enough and that you need to be better. This is useful because it will make you go forward. The bigger ego you have, the lighter life will be for you.
